The Zombies, featuring Colin Blunstone (vocals) and Rod Argent (keyboards), first came to prominence when their debut single 'She's Not There' reached number 12 in the UK charts and number 2 in the US Billboard. Joining Colin and Rod on stage is Argent bassist Jim Rodford, his son Steve Rodford on drums and top session player Mark Johns on guitar. I personally know very little about two of the acts here, but I do know Jon Brindley and can't recommend him high enough - a lovely spiritted man, a stunning guitarist and songwriter. The fact that the other two are bands hand-picked for this night should tell you it'll be a bit of a belter, in what is a cracking good gig room! The Middlewich Festival is already one of THE gigs I am looking forward to in 2006, and so when asked to play this fund-raiser I jumped straight in with full committment to the cause. I believe tickets are already selling well for this night, so don't leave it late. Saturday

"... one of the finest singers in Britain" - Q Magazine Horse McDonald first captured the public's attention as the lead singer/songwriter with 'horse' the band, who first came to prominence in the early nineties. Having made their TV debut on 'The Tube', a major recording deal was signed with Capitol in the same year. The band's first album ' 'The Same Sky' was released in 1990 included the epic track Careful. Horse has travelled widely, promoting the band and supporting such artists as BB King, Tina Turner, Nanci Griffith and Aztec Camera. She has worked in the US, Holland, Germany and the UK. The second album ' God's Home Movie' on MCA, was released in '93 In 1995 Horse realised a major ambition by organising a stunning concert at Glasgow Barrowland where she performed fully orchestrated 'Horsesongs' with the 40 piece Scottish Chamber Orchestra in front of a packed house!
