Darren Poyzer - 'Ambassador of Plectrums!'
One of the more unusual things in the Poyzer career is currently unfolding. Whilst many artistes have a sponsor deal with guitars, amps, drum kits etc, it seems I could soon have a new title and 'corporate' sponsor ... well, it's hardly corporate, as my new found friends are really cool and on the level.

The Dava Pick Company out in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA have kindly supplied me with lots of my favourtie plecs, original green Davas, which as it happens are plecs that I stand by and wouldn't do a gig without - honestly, I am that precious about this!!

In the pipeline is a trade convention in Leeds, forthcoming in June, at which I will be displaying the techniques I have acquired using Davas. Sounds like bull but I promise you it is not ... the Poyzer sound and performance is relative to the way i use the plec, and I truly find the green Dava to be an essential part of the mix.

Poyzer and Rowley raise Mental Health Awareness
The next significant gig (bearing in mind the cancellations below), is now the long awaited MHIST Mental Health Awareness and Fund Raising event in Bolton, on Friday Feb 23rd. If it's anything like the previous event we staged in Bolton last year, one of the highlights of 2006, it'll be an absolute corker. As follows:

Murdoch owns it, and I know for a fact that people have been censored for writing songs that speak out against the attacks on Iraq and subsequent bloodshed. Nevertheless it's free, there's some poyzersongs to listen to, and the magic is not in the technology or corporate politics, but the joys of networking with decent and wonderful people.
